​My first season with Neighborhood Rocks was awesome! I wasn't so anxious about singing - my friend was clear that all kinds of singers can join and I knew I could at least carry a tune - but I was more anxious about joining in with such a big group. Well, everyone has been so welcoming and it has been easy to feel a part of the group! Singing again with a community has brought joy to my life and I find myself excited to come sing each week even when I'm feeling tired or overwhelmed with life responsibilities.

Joining Neighborhood Rocks has been life-changing for me.  The two hours I spend singing and breathing feel like meditation. It's incredibly focused work (yes, sometimes it does feel like work) and time seems to dissolve. When you're in that rehearsal space, you aren't worrying about climate change or the death of democracy or the latest domestic or work dramas; you are entirely focused on the music and the other people who have come to sing with you. It truly feels like a fellowship.    Honestly, outside of time with my family, it feels like the most human thing I do each week. And for that, I am profoundly grateful.

Music has become a big part of my life from singing in Neighborhood Rocks. It rekindled my love of singing, playing instruments and listening to music in general. Seeing my singing neighbors in daily life is special too - we share a joyful bond!
